I have often thought that it would be really interesting to have video running at all times in my vehicle. Of course, you would need at least 4 cameras, then the recordings would need to be reviewed and edited... dang, that would turn into a full-time job! :P Still, it seems like every time that I take a long trip, I experience some sort of weirdness that would be fun to share. :shades:

If you can tell the difference between 255 and 230 HP in a 3500 lb car, you must have a really sensitive rear end. Maybe those "high coefficient of friction" seats have something to do with this? For the "more sporty, cleaner, and untarnished driving experience," get the 1-series. ;)

He just gave me a verbal warning. There is no way that a ticket would stand up in court, considering that he was (mis)judging the distance between the two cars in his mirror, in the dark. :P Besides, my experience is that Oregon State cops in pickup trucks are usually not really interested in writing traffic tickets. :)

Just as it should be... Provided the engine/transaxle/SH-AWD firmware programmers had many very long and drawn out conversations, discussions, with the hardware types.

You can only get "decent" FE from a turbo engine if you LOVE being a "boy-racer", 0-60, type. The RDX and CX-7 engines are so severely derated during normal non-boost operation that it is impossible to attain a reasonable level of FE vs a non-turbo 4 cylinder engine of equivalent size. In order to get the turbo to spool up quickly the engine must put LOTS of WASTE ENERGY into the exhaust manifold at the low end. Additionally in order to take full advantage of the BOOST the native compression ratio of the engine must be lowered. Both of those design effects result in HORRIBLY poor FE at normal highway cruising speeds.

"You don't think that AWD delivers a safety benefit in low traction conditions?" I think that any AWD system that results in the BRAKING effects of engine compression being primarily at the rear upon throttle lift or "clutch" downshifting will add some level of safety factor in low traction conditions. I also think that any FWD or F/AWD can too easily lend a false sense of security to a driver not fully knowledgeable or experienced in the dynamics of handling these on a low traction surface. Sorry if I have come across as a fan of Honda, my position is, has been, that the SH-AWD system is the best of the best for vehicles with a sideways mounted engine, or any "base" FWD converted to F/AWD.
